Archforms, Ltd. is now shipping the new 2010 version of MaxQuake/ MaxWind for the 2009 IBC and 2010 CBC. MaxQuake/MaxWind has been completely revised to comply with the new calculation requirements of the 2009 IBC (International Building Code) and 2010 CBC (California Building Code) base on the 2005 version of ASCE7. MaxQuake/MaxWind has been expanded to provide compete documentation of the derivation of all calculations. The program has been reorganized, and several major new features and numerous subtle improvements have been added at your request. Despite the more complicated Code requirements, added features, and other revisions MaxQuake/MaxWind looks and feels very much the same as the previous versions, but is more complete and intelligent, making entry of and manipulation of input even easier to achieve the best design result, and providing complete documentation ready to submit along with your drawings for a building permit.

  • Simple Terrain Wind coefficient data entry and calculation feature added.
  • Expanded and Improved Wind Zone Area calculations and documentation.
  • Expanded 2009 IBC documentation and 2010 CBC (California Building Code) Code Options, with entirely new Wind and Seismic Load calculation formulas based on 2005 ASCE7 Requirements.
  • Improved documentation of LRFD to USD calculation method conversion.
  • New Shear Wall Construction and Calculation options including Wall Pier Method and Wall Percentage Method.
  • Improved Shear Wall Overturning/Resisting Moment Calculation including selection of worst case of all Individual Segment Wind and Seismic and Segment Groupings of Wind and Seismic OTM-RM combinations.
  • Improved, updated and expanded Material Library/Appendix/Schedules format with new Manufactured Shear Wall Unit Schedule page with new Hardy Panel, Hardy Frame, Simpson Wall, Trus-Joist Wall, and Z-Wall data.
  • Improved Conventional Wall Construction Requirements pages for Hold-Downs and added Wall Construction Requirements pages for RAS or other shrinkage compensating Tie-Down Anchor System.
  • Diaphragm ratio calculation to document Blocking requirements and Improved Selection Options of Blocked and Unblocked Diaphragm Construction.
